{"id":244398,"date":"2025-11-10T12:57:35","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T12:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/?p=244398"},"modified":"2025-11-10T15:31:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T15:31:13","slug":"bts-label-hybe-generated-over-half-a-billion-dollars-in-q3-as-concert-revenues-surge-231-yoy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/bts-label-hybe-generated-over-half-a-billion-dollars-in-q3-as-concert-revenues-surge-231-yoy\/","title":{"rendered":"HYBE generated over half a billion dollars in Q3, as K-Pop company&#8217;s concert revenues surge 231% YoY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">HYBE, the South Korean entertainment giant behind K-pop phenomenon BTS, has today (November 10) reported its strongest-ever quarterly revenue performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The company&#8217;s Q3 revenues grew <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><b>37.8% YoY<\/b><\/span> to hit <b>727.2 billion South Korean won, <\/b>which converts to <strong>USD $524.7 million<\/strong> at the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.x-rates.com\/average\/?from=USD&amp;to=KRW&amp;amount=1&amp;year=2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> average exchange for the quarter.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The performance topped HYBE&#8217;s previous quarterly record from Q4 2024, pushing cumulative revenue for the first nine months of 2025 to <b>1.93 trillion won <\/b>($1.39 billion).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Concert revenue registered the fastest growth in Q3 2025, surging over three times or by<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> <b>231% YoY <\/b><\/span>to<b> 245 billion won <\/b>($176.8m). Recorded music revenue came in at <b>189.8 billion won<\/b> ($137m), down <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>11.5% YoY <\/b><\/span>due to a lighter album release schedule in the quarter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Indirect revenue streams, including from official merchandise, intellectual property licensing, content, and fan club memberships,\u00a0climbed <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><b>22% YoY <\/b><\/span>to <b>249.8 billion won<\/b> ($180.2m). We anticipate these profitability headwinds will largely clear by the fourth quarter, allowing for the full-scale improvement of our revenue structure starting in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">&#8220;While the debut of multiple teams has temporarily absorbed short-term profitability, HYBE\u2019s growth structure will be strengthened in the mid-to-long term through global fandom expansion and revenue base stabilization.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Kyung Jun Lee, HYBE<\/b><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p3\">He continued: \u201cThis recovery will be anchored by BTS\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/bts-confirm-spring-2026-return-with-new-album-and-massive-world-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">return as a group<\/a>, the accelerated growth of K-pop artists, further results from our &#8216;multi-home, multi-genre\u2019 strategy, and stable profitability from <b>Weverse<\/b>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Speaking of Weverse, HYBE&#8217;s global superfan platform achieved \u201ccumulative profitability\u201d through Q3, said HYBE, helped by new business models like Digital Membership. The platform plans to expand further by opening its private messaging service, <b>Weverse<\/b> <b>DM<\/b>, on China&#8217;s <b>QQ Music<\/b> on November 18. The group, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/after-120000-submissions-hybe-and-geffen-unveil-20-artists-to-compete-for-a-spot-in-new-global-girl-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">formed<\/a> through HYBE&#8217;s partnership with <b>Universal Music Group&#8217;s Geffen Record<\/b>s, earned two Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo\/Group Performance. Their first North American tour sold out completely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">HYBE is now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/three-former-katseye-contestants-confirmed-for-hybe-geffens-second-global-girl-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">forming<\/a> another girl group quartet under the same US label through a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/after-katseye-success-hybe-geffen-launches-talent-search-for-second-girl-group-starting-in-japan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> global audition<\/a> called <i>Prelude: The Final Piece<\/i> in partnership with Japan\u2019s <b>ABEMA<\/b>. SANTOS BRAVOS debuted in October with their single <i>0%<\/i>, racking up over<b> 100 million<\/b> views on social media and <b>100,000<\/b> Weverse subscribers. Their debut concert in Mexico City sold out in two hours.
