Apple’s Beats headphones brand will soon have a new boss.<\/p>\n

Oliver Schusser, Head of Apple Music worldwide, will take over at the end of the month when current President Luke Wood steps down, having worked at the company since 2011.<\/p>\n

Launched in 2008 by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, Beats Electronics was acquired<\/a> by Apple in 2014 for $3 billion.<\/p>\n

Schusser, who was promoted<\/a> to Vice President of Apple Music & International Content in 2018, will take on responsibility for the Beats business alongside his existing role.<\/p>\n

The news of Wood’s departure was first reported by<\/a> CNET, which revealed that Apple\u2019s SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddie Cue told employees about the leadership change in a recent email.<\/p>\n

Writing in the internal memo, according to CNET’s report, Cue said: “In the last year, Luke Wood told me about his desire to do something new. I appreciated the heads up so that it allowed us to plan for this transition.”<\/p>\n
